Perfume Oil vs Extrait de Parfum

Perfume oils and Extrait de Parfums offer two luxurious ways to experience fragrance. Both can provide excellent longevity, but they differ in how the fragrance develops and projects.

Perfume Oil

Alcohol-free and highly concentrated, our perfume oils are designed to offer excellent longevity with impressive projection. Applied directly to the skin, the oil warms and develops throughout the day, allowing the fragrance to interact with your individual skin chemistry and create a distinctive wearing experience. Compact and easy to carry, they can also be conveniently reapplied whenever you want to refresh your fragrance.

Extrait de Parfum

Our Extrait de Parfums contain a high concentration of fragrance, typically 30–40%, in an alcohol-based formula. The alcohol helps the fragrance diffuse into the air, giving the extrait a more noticeable initial projection and scent trail. As it develops, the fragrance unfolds through its different notes, creating a rich and immersive fragrance experience.

In simple terms: perfume oils are about longevity, richness and impressive skin-level projection, while Extrait de Parfum offers greater diffusion and a more noticeable scent trail.

How to Apply

For the best fragrance experience, apply your perfume directly to the skin and allow it to develop naturally.

Perfume Oils

Apply a small amount to your pulse points or other preferred areas. Our concentrated oils are designed to provide excellent longevity and noticeable projection, so a little can go a long way.

Extrait de Parfum

Lightly mist onto your pulse points and allow the fragrance to settle naturally. For greater projection and a more noticeable scent trail, you can also lightly mist your clothing from a suitable distance.

Pulse Points

Popular areas include the wrists, behind the ears, neck and inner elbows. The warmth of these areas can help the fragrance develop naturally on the skin.

Hair & Clothing

A light mist on hair or clothing can create a beautiful lingering scent trail. When applying fragrance to clothing, always test on an inconspicuous area first, as some fragrances may stain or mark certain fabrics.

Tip: Avoid rubbing your wrists together after applying perfume. Let the fragrance settle naturally and develop on your skin.

Perfume Oils

Our perfume oils are supplied in rollerball bottles, making them easy to apply directly to the skin with controlled application and minimal mess.

Some of our thicker Musk and Arabian Musk fragrances have a richer, creamier texture. These are supplied with an application stick instead of a rollerball, allowing the thicker oils to be applied more easily.

If you would prefer an application stick for your perfume oil, you are welcome to request one when placing your order. We will accommodate this where possible, depending on the fragrance and bottle available.

Extrait de Parfum

Our Extrait de Parfums are alcohol-based fragrances supplied in spray bottles, allowing for easy application and greater diffusion of the fragrance.

Please note that the colour of the fragrance, oud, bottle, cap, pattern/design and/or design colour may vary slightly from the images shown.

Fragrance colours can appear different depending on lighting, photography, screen settings and the natural colour of the fragrance itself. Some fragrance oils may also naturally vary in colour between batches.

Packaging and bottle designs may also vary slightly due to manufacturing processes and availability.

These variations do not necessarily indicate a change in the fragrance itself.

Storage

For the best experience, store your fragrance away from direct sunlight, excessive heat and large temperature fluctuations.
